Bimetal Thermometers The measuring element of the bimetal thermometer is a quick reacting bimetal coil. It is manufactured from two cold-welded metal strips with different thermal expansion coefficients and rotates in proportion to temperature. The rotary movement is conveyed to the pointer with low friction. A comprehensive range of standard versions (bottom entry, rear entry and any-angle) enables a wide range of applications and uses. Special versions are also manufactured to customer specifications.
Remote Thermometers Measurements are recorded by the liquid-filled measuring system, which consists of a temperature sensor, a capillary tube and a Bourdon spring. These three components combine to form a closed tube system. The internal pressure in this system changes depending on the temperature, which causes the pointer axle connected to the spring to rotate and display the temperature value on the scale. Remote distances of up to 10 m are possible with these instruments.
Gas Actuated Thermometers Gas pressure thermometers are used for the most demanding requirements of measuring range, response time and accuracy in the mechanical temperature measurement field. The measuring system in the gas thermometers consists of the stem, capillary and Bourdon tube in a case. These parts are connected to form a unit. The complete measuring system is filled with an inert gas under pressure. A temperature change causes the internal pressure in the stem to change. The deflection of the Bourdon tube thus caused is transmitted to the pointer by a movement. A bimetallic element is fitted between the movement and Bourdon tube to compensate for fluctuations of ambient temperature at the case.
V-Shaped Thermometers Glass thermometers for machines are used for temperature measurement in gaseous and liquid media and vapours in pipelines and tanks. The V-shaped upper section is provided with a cut-out for the scale and the measuring capillaries. The measuring part of the capillaries is protected mechanically by the submersible tube. The upper part and the submersible tube are connected together by a threaded section.
Thermomanometers The measurement of pressure and temperature at a single measuring point saves the installer an additional connection piece for the pressure measurement.
